Modular or Innovative posts consists of half time in general practice and half time in a speciliaty. With all of our rotations having 18 months in general practice it is possible for all of our trainees to undertake a modular posts. Some of the posts are well established and are already in your rotations, e.g. palliative care and Women’s health. In that case you do not have to do anything. Some are new and it is also possible to create one’s own post.
Generally we think that modular posts should be undertaken as the last post on your rotation and trainees can only do a modular post if they are making good progress towards MRCGP. We would expect you to have successfully completed AKT and CSA and to have no issues with your ePortfolio or WPBA.
